The Challenge

Redesign a sitting experience - I chose to focus on an innovative way to disconnect the user from modern technology and rediscover traditional approaches to modern day activities.

The Solution

A sundial chair that allows its user to disconnect from technology and appreciate their time outdoors. An interactive experience that involves bringing the folded-up Helius Chair on your adventures outdoors, setting it up with the correct compass orientation, and tracking your time by becoming a part of the sundial.

This not only teaches the user about traditional ways of time telling but also encourages them to keep their phones at home.

The patterned notches in the fabric seat cover, align with each hour of the casted shadow.
